We have many activities, described below. Those taking place this month are in bold.
30 August 2010
Dear Members,
For the new club year there have been a few changes in the composition of the Administrative Board (the non-elected volunteers who organize the regular activities proposed each month, who represent AWG outside of the club, who are responsible for our media).
Lael will take over the coordination of Children’s Activities from Rachel. If you have younger children and would like for them to have fun in an English-language environment, this is the group for you. Lael would be delighted to have you join them so contact her with your ideas or just to touch bases and find out what is coming up.
Chris has taken over the responsibilities of Membership Coordinator; she will be assisted by Karen. Their tasks are to inform potential members about AWG and help them find their place in the club once they join, as well as keeping the membership databases up to date. New members integrate best when introduced to AWG by current members. So if you have an English-speaking friend who would like to meet up with other English-speakers in the area, bring them to an AWG event. If you know of someone who’d like to join AWG, have them contact Chris for further information.
Now for a couple of open positions. A new Charity Representative is needed, as Pam has decided to step down from this position. The Charity Representative works with the FAWCO Representative to organize AWG’s fundraising actions in support of local and international charities. If you would like to liaison with local charities and organize events, please contact me.
Finally, just to mention that the Walking Group is looking for a coordinator. If you like to walk and know the area, or would like to get to know it better, consider being a volunteer guide for AWG members. Jan can give you more details.
Welcome back to Montpellier and the south of France - we hope to see you at one of the September events.
