2010 FAWCO Conference

PDFPrintE-mail

FAWCO is making history…from March 11 – 14, 2010, the Federation of American Women’s Clubs Overseas, better known as FAWCO, will hold its annual conference in America’s most historic city – Boston!  FAWCO Alumnae USA, Inc. (FAUSA), as the conference host, anticipates welcoming some 250 delegates and their guests, representing FAWCO’s 15,000+ members worldwide.  The conference will take place at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers in the heart of the historic Back Bay area of Boston.

The conference will officially begin on March 11 but our very own Genette, FAWCO secretary, will be hard at work as of the 8th when she and the other FAWCO Board members begin their meetings.   Looking at her busy schedule of meetings, it will be hard for Genette to find time to enjoy the many optional outings and tours that have been arranged as part of the optional pre-conference program!

The FAWCO conference will kick off first thing in the morning on the 11th with the 1st Session of the Annual General Meeting.  It will be the first of several General Meeting Sessions that will take place during the conference.  The four day conference will, in fact, be packed with workshops, meetings especially geared towards FAWCO Reps, club presidents or club members, as well as BOOST (Be Opened Organized & Successful Today) Sessions.  Evenings, in addition to being social events, will aim to raise funds for FAWCO and the Foundation with events such as the Live and Silent Auctions.

Don’t forget that even if you are unable to attend the conference, you can still participate by purchasing Friendship Quilt raffle tickets (see elsewhere in FAWCO articles), by bidding on auction items (for more info see the FAWCO website www.fawco.org ) or by sending questions you have about The Foundation to be answered in the Face 2 Face session at the conference.  And of course, please come to the tea on March 23rd  to hear all about the history that FAWCO made in Boston!
